come-from-behind 22-all tie with the Loranger Wolves in junior varsity action Thursday night. A 47-yard connection between Bleakley and Marino on the first play of the eventual 10-play, 80-yard drive sparked the scoring march.
The meeting was the second between the two JV squads this season with St. Thomas earning a 14-12 win in the first meeting.
The Wolves took the early advantage as freshman Gilbert Boudreaux recovered a Falcon fumble on the game’s opening drive to set Loranger up at the St. Thomas 49. The Wolves cashed in the miscue driving the distance in eight plays and scoring on a six-yard pass from junior Michael Thompson to freshman Brad Childress. The try for two failed but Loranger took a 6-0 lead with 2:52 left in the first.
Starting on their own 20 yard line, the Falcons answered on their next possession using a Bleakley to Marino 57-yard pass play to move the ball to the Loranger 24 yard line. Bleakley completed another pass to freshman Hunter Reid for 11 more yards and then freshman Davonte Sims and junior Jarred Morales rushed for five and six yards respective to reach the two. Bleakley did the honors from there diving in for score. The two-point conversion was good on a pass from Bleakley to Marino and the Falcons took the lead at 8-6 with 6:53 showing in the second quarter.

65 yards in 12 plays. David G'sell provided most of the work gaining 21 yards on three carries and Bleakley completed the drive with a one-yard scramble for the touchdown. The two-point conversion failed, but the Falcons enjoyed a 14-6 advantage with 29 seconds left in the half.
After a pair of non-scoring possessions by both teams to start the third period, the Wolves got on track driving 65 yards in just six plays for a touchdown as Thompson scrambled 36 yards for the score. Thompson added two more with a three-yard dive and Loranger tied the score at 14-all with four seconds remaining in the third.
Loranger’s Boudreaux collected his second turnover of the night on the Falcons’ next possession intercepting a Bleakley pass to set the Wolves up at the St. Thomas 27. Loranger wasted little time scoring three plays later on 21-yard pass from Thompson to junior Mark Leon. Thompson connected with junior Jeffrey Thomas for the two-point conversion and the Wolves led 22-14 with 7:04 showing in the fourth.
Freshman John Gehegan recovered a fumble on the Falcons next possession, but Loranger was unable to take advantage of the St. Thomas error and the Falcons got one last chance with 2:24 left in the game. Bleakley and Marino connected five times on the final drive for 73 yards with duo combining for the touchdown and the game tying two-point conversion.
